The “path of least resistance” is kind of a higher level English phrase, but it’s a very useful one. It will impress English speakers if you can use it correctly. If someone takes “the path of least resistance” it means they make their decisions based on how easy they are to make. Taking the “path of least resistance” means that you make easy but usually not good long term decisions. It is always used in a negative way to describe someone who is weak and can’t make the difficult but important choices in life. An example would be someone who chose their career just because it was the same career their father had. This is almost like the person didn’t really think about what he or she wanted, they just followed whatever nature gave them.
