This is a very useful phrase in slang spoken English.  If you see a couple kissing and hugging in public, you can tell them to “get a room“.  That means, “Go into a private room and do that stuff”.  It could be a hotel room or another kind of room in someone’s house.

It just means, “please do that kind of sexual stuff in private”.  Young or new couples often hear this because they are so passionate.

The next time you are around some native English speakers and you see a couple people kissing like crazy, tell them to “get a room” and people will think your English is awesome!  I promise.
